Pumpkin Patch
We visited Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock this weekend to see the pumpkin patch. Lindsey, William, and Landon as well as Grammy and Grampy came along. The weather was great and we all had a good time. We rode in a wagon to the pumpkin patch and got a lot of great pictures with Ava and Landon. I think we were a little late because the pumpkin patch was far from impressive.

They grow up so fast
Ava recently had her 4 month check up. I can't believe how quickly time passes. She was 14.1 lbs and 24 inches. She has started on rice cereal and Grammy's homemade baby food. What Grammy can't grow in her garden, she buys organic from Harry's and makes baby food for Ava and cousin Landon. She is a great eater and loves all her vegetables. We started teaching her how to open her mouth wide and chew. I guess I made noises while feeding her because now when she eats she makes "Mmm" and "Uhm" sounds. It's so cute. As you can see she likes her food so much she wants to wear it.
Ava also learned to roll over this week. I layed her on her stomach for "tummy time". It's suppose to help infant's strengthen their neck muscles and promote mobility. Well Ava is not a fan of "tummy time" so she just flipped herself onto her back. We're still working on rolling from back to stomach but I'm a little hesitant. She's almost sitting up on her own too. I think we should have that mastered in the next week. Wow! It's amazing to watch her grow and see all the changes she is making.

Favorite Pictures of Ava
Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Ava. She is growing so quickly and I want to always remember these precious times in her life. It's funny because when I do remember to pull out the camera it always seems like Ava gets camera shy and wont smile. We have more pictures of her just staring at the camera instead of smiling. So it's a huge accomplishment when we do get a laugh or smile. These pictures were taken throughout the summer. She was indifferent to her first trip to the pool as you can see from the look on her face. My favorite picture is the one where she is wearing the hat. Mom was holding her and we were on the back porch. I'm not sure how we got her to smile but I love that picture. And then there is her Halloween costume that I bought and had to immediately come home and put on her. It's a monkey costume that is way to big for her but she looks so cute in it. And any picture of her right out of the bath is so adorable. Look how absolutely chunky she is. I love it.
Family Vacation

The family went on our annual vacation to Destin this past week. The weather was great despite the threat of hurricanes and tropical storms. We stayed in a beautiful three story home on the beach with a private pool. This was Landon and Ava's first vacation to the beach. They played in the pool which they both really enjoyed. We went to the beach where Ava was definitely a beach bum in her tent. Neither one of them cared for the ocean though. I think it may have been a little too cold. We took family pictures on the beach and did some outlet shopping. We did our annual seafood boil and maybe started a new tradition making some amazing crab cakes. The week went by too fast but we all had a great time and created some wonderful new memories.
